Who we are
IESCUM srl Social Enterprise
Born as a study and research center, IESCUM aims to promote scientific study and the advancement of knowledge relating to human behavior understood in its broadest sense, including emotional, cognitive and verbal aspects. Particular attention is paid to psychological applications for the solution of practical problems as well as to the prevention and remedy of human suffering. There are two major research areas in which the psychological applications studied by IESCUM can be identified: Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
BEHAVIOUR LABS srls
Behavior Labs s.r.l.s. is a company that carries out research, development, production of hardware and software solutions in the applied social robotics sector, with highly technological solutions based on the use of robots in the digital health sector, for the treatment of autism syndrome, deficit of neurodevelopment, for the assistance of the elderly, and for the use of virtual reality in healthcare and teaching.
Technology and ABA have been an inseparable pair since Skinner’s first research in the 1950s. IESCUM and Behavior Labs evolve this tradition in the era of robots, virtual reality and artificial intelligence. Today, an application studied jointly allows you to conduct therapies even at a distance in the case of isolation (lockdown) or excessive distance from the center.
In the ABAxITALIA centers, the advancement of knowledge and its dissemination are the natural direct consequence of research. IESCUM engages with the national and international scientific community, publishing researches and monographs of its researchers and professors
TECHNOLOGY AND ABA INNOVATION AND RESEARCH ABA AND AUTISM
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is an applied science that is based on the principles of Behavior Analysis, the result of nearly a century of research.
These principles have also proved particularly effective in enabling interventions on individuals diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
National and international guidelines identify ABA-based treatments as those of choice to improve intellectual, linguistic and communication skills and to develop adaptive behaviors, whatever the level of functioning.
The ABA xITALIA project was born with the intention of making scienti fi cly controlled interventions available to families, provided by highly trained professionals, according to the Italian Model of Early and Intensive Intervention in Autism (MIPIA). The interventions, based on the most modern application of new generation strategies, are provided at the IESCUM clinical centers and other authorized centers, which operate in the area under the supervision of the IESCUM Behavior Analysts).
Taking charge, which involves the team of IESCUM professionals, in the “ABAx project” provides for a first phase of evaluation, followed by the drafting of the individualized qualification plan. The intervention is articulated on the basis of educational needs, paying particular attention also to parents and to the interaction between family members, and the early intervention has as its primary objectives the development of communication skills, socialization, play, autonomy, pre- academic and academic.
Meetings with parents aimed at achieving speci fi c educational competences and psychological skills of resilience and collaboration with the school, aim to promote inclusion and facilitate the child’s participation in school activities and interactions with family members and peers.
